“Nur-Sultan is the city of dreams”

Librarians of the Higher College of Geodesy and Cartography Kasymova S. T. and Suleymanova F. E. conducted a virtual tour of the sights of Astana.

Purpose: To familiarize students with the historical and cultural sights of Astana.

On July 6, 1994, by the decree of the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan, the capital of the state was moved from Almaty to Akmola. In 1997, the President of Kazakhstan made the final decision to move the capital. On May 6, 1998, Akmola was renamed Astana. The Day of the Capital in the Republic has been celebrated since the city acquired the capital status in 1998. Previously, this holiday was celebrated at the city level on June 10, and in 2006, the city day was moved to July 6.
