Library’s working hours

Pass – 8.30 to 17.00.

Reading room: from 8.30 to 17.00.

Lunch – from 12.30 to 13.00.

Weekend -Saturday, Sunday.

Sanitary day – the last Friday of the month.

 

The divisions of the library:

* Subscription – a form of individual and collective service to users, providing for the issuance of documents for use outside the library for a certain period of time.

 

* Reading room-a specially equipped room designed to serve users with documents within it.

 

 

* Book Depository – Department of storage of fixed assets covers an area of 86.8 sq. m. and is designed for permanent storage of solid types of media, as well as other publications.

 

 

Characteristics of material and technical base of the library

 

The total area of the library: 206, 8 m2.

Total seats: 42.

Equipment: racks, exhibition equipment, chairs, other furniture

 

Technical means:       – Computers-11;

– Printers-3.

Technical equipment: local network, Internet, Wi-Fi.

 

Electronic catalogue: maintained since 2005.

Acquisition

Acquisition of the Fund is carried out on the basis of “Regulations on the formation of the library funds” and in accordance with the “Thematic and typological plan of acquisition of the library.”

Editions and documents are acquired on the basis of the preliminary order – according to written requests of heads of departments,  teaching staff according to standards of book availability.

 

Book provision

 

Book availability is one of the most important indicators in assessing the educational process. According to the orders of the Ministry of education of the Republic of Kazakhstan educational institution is obliged to acquire the basic educational literature on the basis of ensuring each student in all disciplines of educational programs. The collections of basic and supplementary literature should also include electronic educational publications. Therefore, the assessment of the availability of subjects takes into account both traditional printed and electronic educational publications, as well as access to electronic resources.

 

The main directions of work on the library book availability

Analysis of  lists of disciplines and specialties;

  • Management of electronic card file (recording data on the disciplines, specialties and other information in the electronic catalogue). Current changes are made daily as lots of new documents enter the library;

* Drawing up and editing the lists of literature  “Book availability according to specialty”;

* Consultations with teachers on book availability of subjects;

* Provision of statistical data on book availability at the request of teachers;

* Ordering new literature by the request of  teachers.
